About Me

My name is Melissa and I am a special education teacher in an elementary school. One of my favorite thing to do is go “treasure hunting”. This is where I spend my mass amount of free time from teaching (ha!) browsing through secondhand stores and yard sales looking for fun objects for the classroom. And freebies. Love me some freebies. Additionally, I will look for things that I can DIY to create a one of a kind classroom treasure.

I do have to say, I am only a first year special education teacher. So if you stumble upon one of my posts and say “what is this crazy girl talking about?” I am learning a lot as I go. I wanted to keep this blog as a way I can document my progress in what I think will actually count as an effective classroom treasure. Maybe I should create a grading system for hunting. What constitutes a classroom treasure? Recommendations requested 🙂
